Office of the Development Officer

Activities

To examine continuously the needs for development in various departments and units of the University.
To monitor all development works of the University and Schemes of the colleges funded programs
To maintain records and to keep contact with the University Grants Commission

Apart from this, the Office of the Development officer has done the following works as per the direction of the higher authority:

Collecting the information for Annual Report from various department and Branches and prepare (Edit and compile) Annual reports for each academic session.
The carry out the jobs of distributing the grants to conduct Workshop/ Seminar/ Symposium received from the UGC and other state agencies based on the proposal received from Department/Centre.
Conducted the Examination like NET (D.O acted ad Coordinator) , SLET/SET (D.O acted as Officer in Charge), WBJEE (D.O acted as Centre in Charge) etc with help of other departments like Controller of examination.
The Development Officer is the Nodal officer for National funded scholarships of different types of Central and UGC schemes.
Oversees and facilitates efforts to secure sponsored project funds, including development of proposals, fund-raising projects and programs.
Explores, researches and identifies appropriate funding sources consistent with Department/Centre mission and goals.
Provides technical assistance in developing grant and contract proposals compatible with Department/Centre interests; interprets application guidelines and advises regarding compliance with University, State Government and other agency regulations as they pertain to allowable costs.
Assesses the capability to successfully compete for external funding; identifies expertise and essential support systems within the department/Centre mission to successfully carry out funded projects.
Works with other University Branches (like Registrar, Finance, Engineer) to review fiscal aspects of proposal to assure compliance with funding agency guidelines, including salary, fringe benefits, purchase of equipment, matching funds required, etc. and performs related duties as required.
